Bang Bang Shrimp

Try this bang bang shrimp recipe as an appetizer or a main dish.  Yummy crispy shrimp coated in a sweet and savory sauce made so easily and quick! This shrimp recipe is definitely a keeper and can easily become a favorite in your household.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sriracha
  • 1 lb shrimp (unshelled and deveined)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • vegetable or canola oil (for frying )
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl add the mayo, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha and stir until well combined.
  2. In a medium to large bowl add the shrimp and buttermilk and toss to coat all the shrimp.
  3. drain the buttermilk from the shrimp and lightly season with salt and pepper.
  4. Coat the shrimp in the cornstarch ( I usually pour my cornstarch into a storage bag with the shrimp and shake)
  5. Heat the oil in pan or skillet
  6. Fry shrimp until lightly golden brown 2 minutes on each side.
  7. Once done coat the shrimp with the sauce and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes

  • Just add a little more sriracha for more spice
  • I found the cornstarch makes crispier shrimp
  • Makes a great appetizer
