Turkey Chili

This chili recipe cooked on the stove is so easy to make and loaded with flavor.  It makes a perfect dinner during any day of the week, especially during the winter its comforting and delicious.  Adding toppings such as tortilla chips, sour cream, and cheese makes it even better.

Ingredients
  • 2 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (diced)
  • 1 jalapeño (seeded and diced)
  • 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
  • 2 1/2 tbsp chili powder (or more to taste)
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin (or more to taste)
  • 14 1/2 oz crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • 14 1/2 oz diced tomatoes (canned)
  • 19 oz red kidney beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 15 1/2 oz pinto beans (with chili sauce)
  • 2 cup beef or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp sugar (optional)
Instructions
  1. Combine ground turkey, 1 tbsp of chili powder, and desired seasonings
  2. In a large pot, saute onion, bell pepper, and jalapeño for 3-4 minutes, then add garlic and saute 1 minute more
  3. Add seasoned ground turkey to the pot along with veggies and cook until turkey has browned.
  4. Add in the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30-45 minutes or until desired thickness.

  • ground beef can be used if preferred
