Blossoming Friendship in the Garden

An unexpected Friendship

I should’ve know when I first met her we would still be friends to this day. I mean who volunteers to plan your wedding just a few weeks after meeting them? I remember it like it was yesterday her saying “oh I love to do party planning and I would love to do this for you at no charge.” I looked at our mutual friend like, is she for real? And long story short she was. I met my friend Kelly through a mutual friend of ours, and immediately we clicked. She made it possible for me to enjoy, being a bride with no stress. We built a bond during that important time in my life that still stands even stronger today. The crazy, fun, adventurous, and caring friend I never knew I needed.

The garden

The sun is out on this day and the weather is perfect, so I took a drive to the west side of Detroit to visit my dear friend Kelly and check out her garden she’s been working on. To my surprise it had significantly grown from first time I seen it which was like a month and a half prior. I had never seen an actual garden before so the whole process is so interesting to me. She’s growing yellow squash, potatoes, okra, eggplant, tomatoes, basil, oregano and so much more. It’s something about the whole vibe of the garden that makes you feel happy, and eases the stress level. I mean we sat outside the whole visit right next to the garden talking and laughing the day away. Not only is Kelly’s garden blossoming, but so is our friendship. My girl sent me home with some parsley, cayenne peppers, basil, and oregano that I used on my flatbread pizza. I can’t wait to try some of the veggies once they harvest. Check out some of the pictures we took!
