Labor Day

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day! This year my birthday fell on the day before Labor Day, which made it great celebrating during the weekend. What a difference a year makes. Last birthday I got the devastating news of breast cancer and the furthest thing from my mind was celebrating. Once I finally stopped feeling sorry for myself and grasped onto reality, I knew it was time to fight and I was in it to win it. I began to really dig deep into my faith and with the support of family and friends I never fought alone. We, together beat breast cancer! Today my husband and I reflected on our journey and realized it has changed us for the better in some ways. We’re more thankful, more considerate, more understanding, and more humble. We are so appreciative of a different kind birthday this year. A birthday without fears and tears but more smiling and laughing. Today on Labor Day we cooked at home. Hubby grilled ribs, turkey chops, sliders, and sausages. I made mac n cheese, pan seared brussel sprouts with bacon, and banana pudding for dessert. It was the perfect ending to my birthday weekend. Remember to Live, Laugh, and Love everyone!
